The Latest Update: March 2022

Welcome to the Minecraft Java Edition 1.16.4 update! This update includes a number of gameplay changes, fixes, and new features.

Gameplay Changes:

  • Added support for the new Nether update biomes
  • Changed the way Netherite works, making it more durable and efficient
  • Added new Netherite tools and armor
  • Added new Netherite-related recipes
  • Added support for the new Nether mobs

Fixes:

  • Fixed a crash when using certain constructs in the Nether
  • Fixed a crash when exiting the game
  • Fixed a number of bugs related to the new Nether update biomes
  • Fixed a number of bugs related to the new Netherite tools and armor
  • Fixed a number of bugs related to the new Nether mobs

New Features:

  • Added a new achievement for crafting a full set of Netherite armor
  • Added a new advancement for killing a Wither with Netherite weapons
  • Added a new advancement for mining Ancient Debris
  • Added a new advancement for finding a Nether Fortress
